The Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives will serve as an external liaison to strategic projects in the LSU athletic department. Strategic projects will include, but not be limited to, Name, Image & Likeness, LSU GOLD, future changes to the collegiate model as well as the creative & branding evolution within athletics. Additionally, this position will serve as the lead producer on the Hey Fightin’ Podcast Network, including booking of guests, formulation and execution of various shows, external promotion of episodes and taking the lead on ideation for potential revenue streams within the network. Responsibilities include working with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives, as well as the LSU Athletics creative groups, to provide creative writing support to the department, both with feature writing, creative briefs, scripts, etc. Additionally, this position will work with the NIL staff to provide social media analytics to student-athletes in relation to their personal brand development. The Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for utilizing analytics and metrics to inform decision-making within external areas of the athletics department, as well as to advance the brand of LSU, the athletic department and LSU student-athletes.
25% Serve as lead producer on the Hey Fightin' Podcast Network, including booking of guest, formulation and execution of various shows, external promotion of episodes, and ideation for potential revenue streams within the network.
20% Work as an external liaison to strategic projects in the athletic department, including Name, Image & Likeness, LSU GOLD, future changes to the collegiate model as well as the creative & branding evolution within athletics;
20% Provide creative writing support to the department, both with feature writing and work on creative briefs, scripts, etc.
15% Use analytics and metrics to inform decision-making within the external areas of the athletic department, as well as advance the brand of LSU, the athletic department and LSU student-athletes.
10% Monitor student-athletes social media usage and become familiar with designated platform to track social media growth; Assist in the creation and execution of social and digital media strategies which enhance athlete recruitment efforts for all sport programs.
5% Research and benchmark collegiate industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions; Stay updated on the latest NIL/revenue generation trends and best practices, including legislative advancements, NCAA compliance regulations, and vendor landscape evolutions;.
5% Adapt role to maximize opportunities as a result of evolving changes in NCAA rules and regulations; Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor'sdegree with two years of related experience; Organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a DI athletic program; Knowledge of collegiate athletics, NCAA rules and regulations, and SEC rules and regulations.
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work extended days, nights and weekends as needed.
