About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
In collaboration with the Assistant AD for Ticket Operations the Assistant Director of Ticket Operations will assist with the management of the Ticket Office and the ticketed SMU Sports.
The position will also assist with events that SMU hosts such as ticketed facility rentals, NCAA Tournaments, NIT games, Conference Championships, etc. They will assist in the sale and reconciliation of all ticketed SMU Athletics events and collaborate with Ticket Sales and Marketing to ensure a highly executed departmental strategy for Ticket Operations.
The role will manage inbound calls and provide customer service/sales for customers.
Essential Functions:
Lead ticket operations for assigned sport(s), assist w/ Football & other SMU hosted events, Manifest, prepare the tickets for sale, build packages, build special group rates or price codes, send out the digital tickets, handle building the parking, send out the parking passes, ticket requests for sports, sell single game tickets on gameday. Answer emails, fulfill, and process ticket sales for new, returning and groups sales. Assist with management of the box office, will call, fan services, gate entry points, etc. on game and event day.
Assist with financial reconciliation, deposits and transactions.
Assist with obtaining Mustang Club donations with the highest level of customer service.
Collaborate with Ticket Sales and Marketing to execute an effective departmental strategy for Ticket Operations. Work with ticket sales on reports and data, work with administration on reports and data. Work with team on comp tickets, work with admin on comp tickets/parking, etc.
Assist with overseeing the student worker program.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of one year of work experience in a ticket office is required. Experience with financial reconciliation is also required. Experience in collegiate athletics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. A strong focus on attention to detail is essential.
Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office. A working knowledge of the Paciolan Ticketing System preferred.
