The Department of Athletics seeks qualified candidates for a full-time, 10-month position of assistant football coach. Reporting to the head football coach, the assistant coach is responsible for the instruction and supervision of student athletes. This assistant coach serves primarily as the special teams coordinator and academic coordinator, while also providing individual and team instruction, skill development and techniques, conditioning and preparation for team members, and the coordination of recruitment efforts for the program. The assistant coach is expected to demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct becoming of the coaching profession, to stay abreast of any rule changes relative to their sport, and to encourage and adhere to all rules, regulations and policies set forth by Lebanon Valley College, the NCAA and the MAC / Freedom Conference. The successful candidate will also be responsible for secondary responsibilities assigned by the director of athletics. The successful candidate should possess solid organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills, knowledge of the game, and have the ability to identify and attract outstanding student-athletes to the College. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, successful background in coaching, preferable at the college level, and collegiate playing experience.
