Position Overview:
The College of New Jersey, a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and NCAA Division III, invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position within the AFT (American Federation of Teachers) bargaining unit and reports to the Head Football Coach and the Executive Director of Athletics. The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting all aspects of a competitive football program, including recruiting, practice and game preparation, player development, academic support, and adherence to NCAA and institutional policies.

Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
One year professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. The minimum education experience standards for positions classified under this class title will vary depending upon the requirements of the specific position to be filled. In each case, these minimums will be determined at the discretion of the appointing authority. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college.) A Master's degree in a field related to the position to be filled may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level (preferably NCAA Division III) or significant playing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to student development and inclusive excellence.
Preferred:
Three (3) years or more of NCAA Football Coaching Experience.
Master's degree preferred in a related field.
Experience with Hudl or comparable recruiting/film software.
