The assistant football coach position is responsible for overseeing a specific position group, recruiting, and supporting the head football coach in all facets of the intercollegiate football program with specific responsibility in coaching a particular segment of the game (e.g. offense/defense/special teams and specified positions within each). All decisions by the assistant football coach are given significant weight in team decision making environment.

Position Qualifications
Football coaching experience at the college level
Bachelor’s Degree; four additional years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to travel
Master’s Degree Football Coaching Experience at NCAA FBS or FCS level Familiarity with offensive/defensive schemes used by Idaho; fit with current UI staff Ability to recruit in high schools and junior colleges, primarily in the West and Northwest Experience as a staff member of football summer camps Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations Coaching philosophy consistent and/or complementary to that of the existing head coach
