Job Purpose/Description:
Assist the Head Football Coach in the administration of all phases of an intercollegiate football program with the framework of the philosophy, rules and regulations of the Minnesota Intercollege Athletic Conference (MIAC), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the College of St. Scholastica (CSS).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; AND two (2) years of professional coaching experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Principles and practices of program planning, development, implementation and administration.
Principles, practices, strategy and tactics of assigned athletic activities.

Skilled in:
Developing a defensive game plan
Assisting in the development and implementations of program and project goals, objectives, procedures and work standards.
Assisting in the planning, organizing and implementing of athletic programs and activities.
Performing coaching duties in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
Providing advice and counsel in a respectful and effective manner.
Exercising sound independent judgment within general procedural guidelines.
Preparing clear concise and complete reports, correspondence and other written materials.
Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
Training staff and students in work procedures.
Establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers and students; demonstrated success working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching a Defensive position
Experience coordinating the special teams of a collegiate football program.
Video editing experience
Background in strength and conditioning.
Master’s degree
Experience assisting in other areas pertaining to a football program; coordinating of volunteer programs, academic support, etc.
Significant experience coaching and recruiting at the college level.
Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Valid driver’s license.
AED/CPR certification within six (6) months of date of employment.
