The Defensive Backs Coach is responsible for overseeing the defensive backs position group and assisting with the administration of football activities delegated by the Defensive Coordinator and Head Football Coach. Oversee all aspects of the defensive backs' academic progress, development, and player management.
Assist the Head Football Coach with recruiting, student-athlete well-being, development, academic advising, scouting reports, film review, and game preparation.
Operate within the guidelines of ASU, University Systems of Georgia, and NCAA Rules and Regulations.
Support Head Coach with maintaining a culture of compliance, student-athlete wellbeing, and championship culture.
Collaborate with campus partners, including but not limited to Student Affairs, Provost/Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Advancement, and Student Success.
Engage internally and externally through phone, email, mailings, Zoom and in-person communication with faculty, staff, students, donors, alumni, and fans.
Travel required as it relates to position's responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
Minimum 3 years of experience in football coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or equivalent level.
Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete welfare, academic success, and adherence to NCAA, SIAC, University System of Georgia and Albany State University policies and procedures.
Valid driver's license.
Master's degree.
Prior collegiate coaching experience.
