Job Summary

The position serves as assistant football coach/offensive coordinator for Savannah State University's (SSU) Division II Football Program. The incumbent leads and coaches according to the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) andSouthern Intercollegiate Athletics Conference(SIAC), University System of Georgia (USG) and Institutional guidelines. This position provides support to the Head Coach in all aspects of on-field and off-field coaching, player development, academic success, recruiting, film study, practice organization, position meetings, scouting opponents, and special teams.

Job Summary

The position serves as assistant football coach/offensive coordinator for Savannah State University's (SSU) Division II Football Program. The incumbent leads and coaches according to the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) andSouthern Intercollegiate Athletics Conference(SIAC), University System of Georgia (USG) and Institutional guidelines. This position provides support to the Head Coach in all aspects of on-field and off-field coaching, player development, academic success, recruiting, film study, practice organization, position meetings, scouting opponents, and special teams.

Responsibilities

• Assists with coaching and developing the offensive line
• Reviews and inputs film on HUDL, DVSport Technologies, etc.
• Oversees game plan development for the offensive line
• Develop scouting reports and tip sheets
• Communicates effectively and motivates players toward successful outcomes
• Participate with team and staff in community service programs and public relations events
• Create an environment that places value on student athletes and staff safety to include mental healthand overall wellbeing
• May be required to perform job related duties other than those specifically delineated in this position

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• Experience as an Offensive Coordinator at College Level
• Minimum Five (5) years College Coaching Experience

Proposed Salary

The proposed salary range is $47,000.00 to $52,000.00 annually.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of NCAA, SIAC, USG and institutional policies and procedures
• Knowledge of different offensive and defensive schemes
• Knowledge of recruiting procedures in the State of Georgia and surrounding states
• Skilled in communication (interpersonal, oral and written)
• Ability to breakdown film and defensive schemes
• Ability to input film on DVSport and HUDL
• Ability organize and teach football strategies
• Ability to positively motivate student-athletes
• Ability to support student-athletes in college life, academic and athletic experiences
• Ability to work as a member of the Athletics Department and Football Program
