Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Football Coach/OFFENSIVE Coordinator. Gettysburg is an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences college, which enrolls approximately 2,400 primarily residential students. The College is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual who has a strong administrative, collaborative and student-focused background to serve in this position. Duties include assisting the head coach in the following areas: coaching during practice and games to ensure proper preparation and readiness for student-athletes, including work with strength and conditioning and video breakdown and analysis; provide some coordination of detailed travel logistics for events; recruit and retain highly qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success, including meeting with student-athletes and parents to promote Gettysburg College, as well as use social media and other strategies of to leverage technology; demonstrate a high level of involvement in the personal, academic development and health and welfare of student-athletes; provide support to the office of Development, Alumni and Parent Relations with fundraising efforts and alumni activities; additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation. Gettysburg College seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members. The Assistant Football Coach is a 12-month, full-time, administrative appointment reporting to the Head Football Coach. Salary is commensurate with experience and complemented by an excellent benefits package.
The successful candidate will have: earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree is preferred; a minimum of three to five years of progressive collegiate coaching experience (preferred); a strong foundation of the rules of football as a player or coach and a full appreciation and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred; the ability to work effectively in the environment of an academic demanding liberal arts institution, demonstrated ability in the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes and abide by all NCAA Division III, Centennial Conference and institutional policies; knowledge and experience with technology applications applicable to the position; a valid driver’s license and safe driving record in accordance with all institutional policies;
