The Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator is responsible for all phases of the program including organization and administration, quality student-athlete development and recruitment, fiscal management, viable fund raising and public relations, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Salary & Benefits:  

Minimum starting salary of $65,000, commensurate with experience

1. Development, preparation and coordination of offensive philosophy, culture, strategy, practice, and game plans.

2. Provide on-field instruction to players.

3. Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.

Primary Duties

1. Development, preparation and coordination of offensive philosophy, culture, strategy, practice, and game plans.

2. Provide on-field instruction to players.

3. Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.

4. Identify, evaluate, and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the university's academic and athletic requirements.

5. Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.

6. Ensure the program adheres to all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.

7. Serve as an GVSU ambassador, engage with media, and participate in fundraising and community events.

8. Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.

• A thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA rules and regulations.

• Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NCAA compliance with the highest ethical standards.

• Driving a company/university vehicle may be required. A valid drivers license is a requirement and a MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience coaching quarterbacks at the collegiate or commensurate level.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Nights, weekends, and travel are required.
