Design, develop and deliver comprehensive and coordinated training programs for football athletes. In partnership with the Head Coach of assigned teams, establish and manage an accountability structure and standards. Assist in establishing performance measures and targets. Help with organizing teaching sequences of training techniques for fall orientation and throughout the year. Teach proper execution of techniques and safety for lifts and drills. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Effectively motivate athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance.
Implement and enforce all ICA rules, policies and procedures with regard to the weight room and equipment. Assist with programs as required by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Assist with the day to day operation of the Strength training facility. Be flexible to work irregular hours. Other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Professionally and effectively work, write, speak and communicate with staff, administrators and other coaches in the athletic department.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington, and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field and two years of coaching experience in strength and conditioning at the NCAA Division 1 level. CSCS or SCCC certification required, or United States Weightlifting Club Coach Certification. Experience with the instruction of all Olympic lifts.
