The Assistant Manager of Equipment Services assists with all activities related to athletic equipment and uniforms, such as budgeting, purchasing, payment authorization, distribution and inventory management, safety evaluation, maintenance, and reconditioning. In addition, the Assistant works with a limited number of head coaches under the direction and oversight of the Manager of Equipment Services. An essential role is the oversight of laundry service for 31 varsity athletic teams and staff members.
Essential Functions:
Oversee timely washing and delivery of practice and game laundry for 31 varsity teams.
Maintain adequate equipment, uniform and practice apparel inventories. With the assistance of the Manager of Equipment Services, bills students and staff for lost equipment and repair (or send for repair) all damaged athletic equipment.
Coordinate purchasing of equipment, uniforms and supplies with a limited number of head coaches under the supervision of the Manager of Equipment Services.
Assist with the oversight and training of student employees.
Execute sizing and reconditioning of protective gear, with emphasis of head gear for select teams. Ensure safe athletic equipment for practice and games.

A high school diploma or
GED
equivalent.
Applicants must possess a working knowledge of computers, in particular familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, accounting, and inventory software (vFormity)
Understanding of budgeting and inventory procedures
Strong organizational skills
Superior customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people in a positive and effective manner
Understanding of athletic equipment safety issues, standards, and procedures; demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate professionals and casual employees
A commitment to being a positive member of the College community
A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.
This position is subject to a pre-placement physical, criminal history record check, and motor vehicle record check.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.

Familiarity with the specific equipment needs of various sports.
1- 3 years of related experience in equipment management.

Prior equipment management experience in a collegiate or professional sports setting.
This position is part-time, year round working 30 hours/52 weeks (0.75
FTE
).
Hours vary widely based upon sport season and needs of athletic programs. Typically 9:00 am – 3:00 pm with occasional nights and weekends.
