Title: Assistant Men's and Women's Swim Coach

Position Purpose: The Assistant Men's and Women’s Swim Coach is a second assistant position and responsible for aiding the Aquatics & Pool Operations Manager/Assistant Swim Coach in the execution of practices and meet day instruction/coaching, as well some recruiting and administrative duties. This is an academic year professional assistant coaching position and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NESCAC Conference and the College. 

Job Duties: Appointment: Academic Year  (Beginning-Sept through end-May)   Throughout the academic year, the assistant coach is expected to, Help with administrative duties as assigned by the head coach. Coach student-athletes at the direction of the head coach.  Assists the head coach in developing and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes. Coach student-athletes during practices, meets, and scrimmages.  Attend meetings related to coaching: working with the head coach and other staff.  Travel related to student coaching, as applicable. Assists in the recruitment of student-athletes as directed by the head coach. Ensures full compliance with NESCAC, and NCAA guidelines in all aspects of the recruiting process. Responsible for identifying qualified prospective students and guiding them through the recruitment process. Compiles recruitment and eligibility data and reports as required by the head coach or any senior level administrator. Help run the program's social media accounts. Adhere to and enforces all policies and procedures within the Department of Athletics & Physical Education. Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participates actively in available professional development opportunities. Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters. Arrange team travel transportation arrangements through Senior Administrative Coordinator for Athletics and team lodging arrangements through the Business Manager. Work closely with the strength and conditioning and sports medicine staff to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition. Assist with approved fund-raising activities as requested and coordinates all such efforts through the Director of Athletics and Office of College Advancement.
