Job Summary
Assist the Head Coach as requested in recruiting, training, and coaching members of the sport team. Assume an auxiliary role as directed that supports the operations of the Department of Athletics.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the sport program, including but not limited to: practice planning, organization, and implementation, game preparation and implementation, alignment with MIAC and NCAA policies, and program logistics
- Assist the head coach in all aspects of player development in alignment with Bethel University and the Bethel athletic department: Spiritual formation, academic oversight, culture development.
- Assist the Head Coach in recruiting student athletes who are a good fit to the institution and have the capacity for high caliber play within the NCAA DIII arena and maintain expected roster sizes. Mentor and nurture the development of admitted athletes in all areas of their growth.
- Auxiliary Role: Assume a role within the department of athletics that supports operations of athletic programs and student-athletes.
- Additional duties as requested.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept.
- Demonstrated effective recruitment strategies.
- Ability to organize and implement effective game and practice strategies.
- Working knowledge of NCAA, MIAC and institutional rules and regulations.
- Playing and coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
- Knowledge of sports management.
- Demonstrated ability to work alongside of students in a cooperative and collaborative style.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated organizational and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Experience

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience coaching.
Education
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred:
- Master's degree
Additional Information
- Requires active participation of administering practices and games.
- Requires evening and weekend work.
- Requires extended hours of work during the in-season of the sport.
12-Month Position.
Salary: $42,000 - $44,000/year
