Job Description

Baker University is seeking a part-time Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach to support the Department of Athletics. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about Men’s soccer and are looking to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to assist in various aspects of the program, including practices, recruiting, and administrative tasks. This position is ideal for those who may be pursuing a graduate degree, as it offers a graduate tuition waiver along with a small stipend. For those not seeking a graduate degree, a salary can be provided instead. The Assistant Coach will play a vital role in helping to recruit student-athletes who possess the necessary skills and abilities to succeed in the program. This includes participating in campus visits for recruits, assisting with ID camps, and attending games and tournaments to evaluate potential recruits. The position also involves evaluating game film for team instruction and scouting purposes. Administrative responsibilities will include managing databases, gear inventory, and handling various office tasks to ensure efficiency. This position requires a commitment to upholding the policies and procedures of both the Department of Athletics and Baker University. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soccer, either through coaching or playing experience at the college level, and will demonstrate the ability to lead and guide student-athletes effectively. First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required, but these can be obtained after hiring. The anticipated start date for this position is August 4, 2025, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or coaching or playing at an elite level of competition; Prior coaching or playing experience or both at the college level; USSF B License or equivalent preferred; Ability to lead, guide, and direct student-athletes and First Aid, CPR, AED (these can be completed after hire)
