Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach - Recruiting Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

This part-time position is responsible for assisting the head men's wrestling coach with recruiting efforts for the intercollegiate wrestling program, including but not limited to recruiting qualified student athletes, camps, building community support for the program, and knowledge of applicable NCAA rules.

Supervisor Received/Exercised

This position reports to Head Men’s Wrestling Coach and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Initial outreach to recruits and high school coaches
  
• Assist in the recruiting plan of the program, evaluate, and recruit qualified student athletes
  
• Travel to recruit student athletes
  
• Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the college, the MIAA, and the NCAA with the utmost integrity
  
• Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attend department meetings and activities, and always represent the college positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media, and general public
  
• Support the philosophy and mission of the college and the athletic department
  
• Develop student-athletes to be contributing members to the campus community and the community at large

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Collegiate level playing and/or coaching experience
  -Ability to work evenings and weekends, along with travel
  
  • A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
    
  • Ability to fulfil essential function of the position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to manage multiple tasks
  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of NCAA Division III and MIAA compliance and conference rules, and an understanding of the NCAA Division III student athlete philosophy
  
  • Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
