South Dakota Mines is searching for an individual to fill a combined position of Assistant Soccer Coach/Secondary Position. This is a 12-month benefited position at 100% effort from July 22 to May 21 and 50% effort from May 22 to July 21. This individual will serve under the supervision of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.
Expectations for this position include the ability to plan and operate soccer practices; serving as liaison for the soccer program to officials, visiting teams, coaches and others as assigned; recruiting as assigned by Head Soccer Coach; the ability to demonstrate soccer skills; a thorough knowledge of soccer skills and strategies; tracking academic progress of soccer team members; possession of a valid driver’s license; and other soccer duties as assigned. This position will also have secondary responsibilities within the Athletic Department which will be assigned by the Athletic Director.
The successful candidate will possess an earned bachelor’s degree. Prior collegiate coaching and soccer playing experience is strongly preferred. Prior Goalkeeper coaching or playing is strongly preferred. U.S. Soccer E Coaching License or higher or a relatable coaching license from another organization strongly preferred.
