Position Information
The Assistant Softball Coach 2 is responsible for assisting with all aspects of an NCAA Division I Women's Softball program including, but not limited to, on field duties of hitting, infield or outfield; the identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; supporting the academic limited to, the identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; preparing and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition; fostering the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes; organizing team and staff travel arrangements; facilitating administrative duties, paperwork, video and scouting; managing the distribution and ordering of team equipment and supplies; coordinating and administering special softball events; managing and supervising facility maintenance and representing the sports program as needed in association with promoting and fundraising for the program. Works directly with Assistant Softball Coach 3 and head coach on all necessary functions to carry out the program's success. Please Note: Applicants are required to submit a resume. Additionally, this position has multiple openings. The salary range for the Assistant Softball Coach 2 is $43,500 - $57,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $48,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program.

Description Percent Time Analyzes performance and instructs participants in program strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition. 15% Observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement. 15% May assist in the recruitment of prospective athletes within the framework of the university, department, conference, NCAA rules. 15% Under guidance of head coach, develops technical aspects of player coaching. 10% Participates in the evaluation of student athletes' performance. 5% Represents and promotes professional conduct, university good will and high standards at all events and games. 5% Ensures adherence to all governing rules, university, department, conference, NCAA policies and procedures, including student-athlete benefits. 5% May assist in coaching at competitive events. 5% May assist in most practice and conditioning sessions. 5% May participate in fundraising activities for the program and department. 5% Technology & video: Manage and operate video technology effectively to enhance player and team development. 5% Administration: Handle paperwork and related administrative responsibilities in a thorough, complete, timely manner and adhere to university and department fiscal procedures and practices. 5% Facility: managing and supervising the softball facility maintenance and day to day operations. 5%Other Requirements
