Grays Harbor College Athletic Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Intercollegiate Women’s Softball. Reporting to the Head softball coach, and the Director of Athletics, the selected candidate will be responsible working with the Head Coach of the women’s softball program, ensuring compliance with athletic department, college, and Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) guidelines. The assistant coach holds a significant role in fostering a holistic collegiate women’s softball journey for student-athletes, emphasizing academic success, competitive athletics, and personal growth opportunities. This is a part-time, non-tenure position without benefits eligibility. This position is paid through an annual stipend.

Grays Harbor College serves the communities of Grays Harbor and Pacific counties on the Pacific coast of Washington. Located in Aberdeen, Washington at the base of the beautiful Olympic Peninsula, the College is less than an hour away from scenic Pacific Ocean beaches and close to both the Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist head coach in planning and conducting practices; Provide individual skill development sessions for players.
  • Help develop game strategies and tactics.
  • Assist with Identifying and evaluating potential recruits.
  • Attend tournaments, showcases, and high school games to scout prospects in conjunction with the head coach.
  • Assisting with maintaining communication with recruits and their families.
  • Assist with coordinating recruiting visits and tours of GHC campus and facilities.
  • Assist in game preparation, including setting up equipment and field.
