Job Description
Summary/objective
Assist the Sports Information Director in all aspects of communication and media coverage for the college’s 20 varsity sports and other areas within the athletic department. The position supports the Sports Information Director by developing story ideas, writing, distributing press releases, and coordinating media attendance at campus sporting events. Assists game day coverage at the site of competition which includes providing all resources necessary for game coverage. Assists with the daily operations of the Randolph Athletics sports website to include writing, editing, and updating its contents. Assists with the hiring and training of student workers and interns that help with sports information duties.

Competencies
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including having the ability to identify and develop game and feature stories
Proficient in Statistics software (NCAA Live Stats, Presto Stats, Statcrew)
Proficient in Adobe Suite software (InDesign, Photoshop)
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel)
Familiarity with video production software preferably Production Truck)
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Experience with website development, maintenance, and associated software particularly with SIDEARM
Strong writing, computer, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work weekend and evening hours
Ability to effectively relate to students, faculty, staff and the general public
Supervisory responsibilities
Experience with student staff training, supervision and evaluation
Work environment
Position typically works in an office environment.
Physical demands
Requires standing/walking/sitting for extended periods. May occasionally lift 10/15 lbs.
Travel required
May travel infrequently on College business.
