Job Description
Must provide a well-designed, scientifically proven, collaborative training program based on sound physiological principles to our Buckeye student-athletes. This includes sport specific focus, safe and productive physical training, and experimentally proven methods. This should occur by means of a periodic plan as the primary emphasis with the goal of maximizing the physical potential of the student-athlete and reducing injury risk. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of our sport performance department, The Ohio State Athletic Department policies, the university, Big 10 Conference, and the NCAA. Foster an environment that is committed to the principles of ethical conduct, integrity, and excellence. Develop annual training plan; design and implement individualized, sport specific training and recovery for assigned sports. Provide strong investment for all aspects of the sports assigned including championship travel. Long days, weekends, some holidays may be required. Develop strong bonds with the student-athletes, sport coaches & support staff for assigned sports. Submission of complete program to designated leadership for approval before execution of program with the student-athletes. Completed program must be given to sport coach and athletic trainer to maintain safe volume/intensity for the student-athlete. Conduct & submit notes to the Senior Director for Sport Performance for all monthly Athletic Performance Meetings, including the sport coach, athletic trainer, nutritionist, and sport psychologist. Maintain immediate communication with sport coach and athletic trainer on all changes and concerns. Educate student-athletes on program rationale, proper lifting techniques/running mechanics/movement patterns, and recovery methods. Demonstrate a passion and energy to help motivate student-athletes. Demonstrate a positive and engaging coaching style for each workout. Create a safe, intense training environment for the student-athlete. Create a collaborative, creative team environment where change is embraced, and innovation is encouraged. Conduct preseason and postseason sport-specific testing. Provides feedback and recommendations to the leadership affecting the physical & mental development of our student-athletes: Associate AD for Sport Performance, Senior Director for Sport Performance, Director of Strength & Conditioning-SJA/JSC/FFH, Director of Strength & Conditioning-SCR/JWF, Director of Sport Science, Athletic Trainers, Sport Psychology & Wellness counselors, Sport Nutrition assistants, and Sport Coaches. Assist with organizational procedures and projects for leadership to insure great productivity & efficiency. Additional responsibilities as assigned throughout the year. Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $37,800 - $50,000 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
