Job Description

The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will be mainly responsible for the Strength & Conditioning of UAF's DI Men's Ice Hockey Team. Other sport assignments may be assigned. The individual will be responsible for programming, weight room upkeep, performance testing, injury prevention, and other administrative tasks necessary for job completion.

To thrive in this role applicants should have some work experience with ice hockey for success in this role. The Sports Performance Department is looking for hard working, and self motivated individuals to serve our student athletes. Great communication skills are needed to succeed in this position; including communicating with coaches, athletes, and athletic trainers

Minimum Qualifications:

•A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably a masters with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
•Required Certifications: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and/or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (CSCCa)

Position Details:

This is a full-time, term-funded, 10-month (22 pay period), non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
