The Full-Time Assistant Track & Field Coach at High Point University plays a vital role in supporting the Director and Head Coach in all aspects of a NCAA Division I track and field program. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required;
• Masters preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Recruitment of prospective student-athletes
• Planning and implementing an event specific training plan
• Overall program administration
• Community relations 
• Administrative tasks  
• Organization of campus visits and communication with PSA’s
• Assists Director and Associate Head Coach with other duties as assigned
• Working knowledge and application of NCAA, Big South and University rules
• Commitment to NCAA compliance, academic integrity, ethical conduct, and student-athlete well-being

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to see (including color perception), hear, communicate clearly, and use touch, hand, and finger dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds , walk between and within buildings, climb, push and pull equipment or materials, and drive both locally and for longer distances as needed.

Mental/Reasoning Requirements:
Requires strong complex reading and writing skills, clerical aptitude, basic mathematical proficiency, analytical and comprehension abilities, and sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a dynamic environment requiring sustained cognitive focus, effective communication, analytical thinking, clerical responsibilities, and the ability to make sound decisions while managing multiple priorities.
