Job Description:
Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President for Marketing, Communications & Advancement, the Assistant Vice President for Advancement collaborates with senior staff, faculty, alumni, board members as well as volunteers to develop and implement initiatives and strategies for successful major gift solicitation and campaign planning and management and execution. This position includes fundraising efforts for the Athletic Department with a goal of closing the expense - revenue gap year over year. This position is responsible for securing the necessary financial and volunteer support to sustain and develop Alabama A&M University.
Responsible for proactively and cooperatively identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of major gift prospect and donors, with an emphasis on gifts of $10k or greater.
The Assistant Vice President for Advancement provides leadership in planning, directing and managing the fundraising activities in the areas of advancement services, corporate & foundation relations, athletics and major gifts. This position will play a key role in developing and building the planned giving program.
The position will have a portfolio of at least 125 prospects, activity and productions metrics, travel and participation in evening and weekend work-related activities.

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
