The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

Candidates for this position must have excellent knowledge of coaching volleyball; understanding and knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations; patience and good people-skills; flexibility to meet changing demands, and good organizational skills. They must be an energetic and detail-oriented self – starter; social media savvy and strong interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated integrity, leadership, and excellent knowledge of the sport.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coaching: Assisting the head coach with coaching duties, such as teaching skills and game play, and developing a coaching plan for each athlete.
Recruiting: Helping to recruit new players who are academically and athletically qualified for the United States Naval Academy.
Video and technical coordinator: Responsible for practice and match video.
Managing: Assisting with the management of the program, including travel, accommodations, and meals, transportation and other logistics.
Compliance: Full understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
Event management: Assisting with game day management and other events.
Summer Camp: Organizing and coaching summer camp sessions.

Qualifications
Experience, Education, & Certification(s)
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with successful coaching, playing, and recruiting experience at the Division I college level

Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements
Physical Demand: Must have the energy and enthusiasm and mobility to actively coach the sport. Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Position requires the ability to move about the campus. Position requires frequent lifting, stooping, crouching, and bending.
