Assistant Volleyball Coach

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform all coaching duties in the role as Assistant Coach (refer to Athletics Staff Handbook for responsibilities).
2. Represent the Athletics and Recreation Department in an appropriate and professional manner at all times.
3. Be knowledgeable about the NCAA Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA).
4. Consistent communication with supervisors to inform of status, incidents and needs.

5. Attendance at student-athlete seminars, annual coaching/educational clinic, annual orientation sessions and all athletic staff meetings throughout twelve months.
6. Securement of Adult CPR Certification, First Aid and AED Certification (American Red Cross). The certifications must be on file prior to the first official practice, i.e. non-traditional seasons.
7. Understand, agree to and sign annually the Athletics and Recreation Department's and Conference "Code of Conduct/Sportsmanship” policy. Act consistently in a manner reflective of its intent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, strong interpersonal, planning and organizational abilities; and, excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Competence with technology resources and a current driver’s license are vital to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
• CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Tasks such as working at a computer, which involves extensive wrist and hand movements, are also required. The operation of vehicles and the transportation of athletes are duties that are required at various times

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel and work nights and weekends.
