Essential Duties Summary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
I. Volleyball Coaching Responsibilities
Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with all program operations, including:
Coaching, practice planning, scouting, and player development
Conditioning, contest preparation, and game-day operations
Scheduling, travel planning, logistics, and equipment management
Budget management, fundraising initiatives, and recruiting support
Monitoring academic, athletic, and personal growth of volleyball student-athletes
Maintain strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Provide a positive and professional presence aligned with team, departmental, and University standards.
Evening, weekend, and travel obligations as required.
II. Athletics Compliance Responsibilities
A. Compliance Leadership & Oversight
Serve as the institutional authority on NCAA Division III rules, University policies, and conference regulations.
Educate coaches, staff, student-athletes, boosters, and community partners on rules, procedures, and compliance expectations.
Oversee the annual revision and dissemination of:
Coaches & Staff Compliance Manual
Student-Athlete Handbook
Booster/NLI compliance materials
B. Eligibility & Certification
Coordinate with Admissions, Registrar, Residential Life, and New Student Programs to support onboarding of student-athletes.
Track and verify NCAA Eligibility Center information and communicate status to coaching staff.
Determine initial and continuing eligibility each semester.
Prepare and file all applicable NCAA waivers.
C. Documentation & Monitoring
Manage the NCAA Compliance Assistant database and ensure accurate squad lists, certification reports, and student-athlete records.
Monitor National Letters of Intent (NLI), prepare documentation, and coordinate conference submissions.
Provide rules interpretation and updates to coaching staff across all sports.
D. Infractions, Investigations & Reporting
Monitor recruiting, student-athlete activities, coaching activities, and booster engagement for compliance with institutional and NCAA bylaws.
Investigate potential violations and prepare formal reports for the NCAA, Conference office, and University leadership.
Oversee Bylaw 15 (Financial Aid) compliance in coordination with relevant campus offices.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in departmental meetings and University committees as requested.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Volleyball Coach (coaching) or the Director of Athletics (compliance).
Uphold confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all compliance and student-related matters.
Support in gameday operations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Coaching or playing experience in volleyball required; collegiate experience preferred.
Strong computer skills including database management, word processing, and electronic communications.
Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and teach regulations (NCAA or comparable).
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Prior NCAA compliance experience.
Previous collegiate coaching or administrative athletics experience.
