Shenandoah University invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. This is a full-time benefitted positon located on our main campus in Winchester, Va.

This full-time position assists the Head Women’s Basketball Coach with all aspects of an NCAA Division III women’s basketball program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes
• Practice planning, skill instruction, and game preparation
• Opponent scouting, video exchange, and film breakdown
• Supporting scheduling, team travel, and program operations
• Monitoring academic progress and supporting student-athlete success
• Ensuring compliance with NCAA Division III , ODAC , and institutional regulations
• Serving as a positive representative of the university and athletics department

Required Skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• 1–3 years of collegiate coaching experience preferred
• Previous collegiate playing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with student-athletes in an academically rigorous environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
