Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking to hire an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics and must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. The Assistant Coach supports the goals and objectives of the athletics program, assists the Head Coach with organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

This role complies with University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations. Works cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel. Supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. Additional duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Evidence of sound organizational and communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public
• Four years collegiate playing experience or combined collegiate and professional playing experience totaling 4 years
• Two seasons of coaching experience (this includes graduate assistantships or volunteer coaching positions based on NCAA guidelines)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• NCAA Division I experience
• Knowledge of University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Additional Information: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters, such as student worker positions, assistantships, and civil service extra help roles.
