Key Responsibilities
Assist in promoting the philosophy and objectives of the women's basketball program, including coaching, recruiting, program organization, budgeting, fundraising, and compliance with university, conference, and NAIA regulations.
Coach and mentor student-athletes, emphasizing skill development, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic success.
Serve as the Head Coach for the Junior Varsity women's basketball team, while assisting with the varsity program.
Support the development and implementation of practice plans, preseason training, and competitive schedules.
Recruit and retain academically successful student-athletes who contribute positively to the Mount Mercy community.
Monitor student-athlete academic progress and collaborate with Student Success staff to support retention and graduation.
Ensure the safety and welfare of all student-athletes in collaboration with the athletic training staff.
Represent the athletic department at campus, alumni, community, and NAIA Champions of Character events.
Assist with community outreach initiatives, leadership development, and team service projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree: Master's degree preferred.
Prior participation or coaching experience in collegiate or high school basketball preferred.
Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes at the collegiate level.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license required.
