Alabama State University, Intercollegiate Athletics, invites application for the position, Assistant Women's Basketball Coach/Player Development. In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will assist in administering the progress and success of the intercollegiate women’s Basketball program within the guidelines of the NCAA, the SWAC Conference, and Alabama State University. This includes all pre-season, in-season, and post-season activities necessary to develop a nationally competitive team. As a Division I women's basketball player development coach, job duties include designing and implementing individualized training programs, analyzing player performance, providing feedback and guidance, physically assisting and demonstrating skill development drills, collaborating with other coaches to enhance player development strategies, and staying updated on trends and techniques in basketball training. In-game duties include tracking offensive sets and defensive coverages and analyzing overall game strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s Degree, Division 1 collegiate playing experience, demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment, be proficient in Microsoft Office software programs, have working knowledge and practice related to relevant video and statistical analysis software, have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, have a dedication to serving the Athletic Department, Alabama State University, and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative, and integrity and have working knowledge of NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference, and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics. Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
This position requires working evenings, weekends during the academic year and traveling during recruiting and with the team during the season.
