Analyzes performance and instructs student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition; observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement; and coaches players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques of sport coached.

Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach

Frostburg State University Athletics Department is seeking a full-time 10-month contractual Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach to be responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of the FSU Bobcat Women’s Lacrosse program.

This is a 10-month appointment that includes the following benefits will be available on an annual basis:

• University System of Maryland Tuition Remission program.
• Five (5) days of annual leave
• Holidays
• Three (3) days of sick leave
• May participate in the State Health Insurance programs (medical, prescription and/or dental, etc.) that are available to State employees. Staff working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the applicable state subsidy for medical and prescription coverage.

FSU boasts 25 varsity sports (11 men/14 women) at the NCAA Division II level that compete in the Mountain East Conference and the East Coast Conference.

Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with coaching and supervision of the Women’s Lacrosse Team. The coach will train and develop skills specific to the sport of lacrosse as assigned by the head coach. Help monitor and advise student-athletes to ensure academic success. Assist in evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Other related duties as assigned. Administer the women’s lacrosse program in accordance with NCAA regulations and University policy.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 1 years of coaching experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Proven ability to recruit student-athletes.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience at the collegiate level.

Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
