Athletics - Women's Lacrosse
Job Summary/Basic Function
Responsible for aiding the Head Coach in all aspects of the Dickinson Women's Lacrosse program, including but not limited to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, administration of practices, marketing and implementation of clinics, fundraising, community service, leadership development and game strategy.
Responsible for aiding the Head Coach in all aspects of the Dickinson Women's Lacrosse program, including but not limited to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, administration of practices, marketing and implementation of clinics, fundraising, community service, leadership development and game strategy.
Management and mentoring of the current team by cultivating a culture of accountability and team mentality within our student-athletes and by reinforcing the Head Coach's expectations of priorities and standards of behavior within our student-athletes. Year Round. 10%
Recruitment of talented student-athletes to Dickinson by using Front Rush Software, traveling to tournaments and camps, getting to know the prospective student-athletes and their families through phone conversations and on campus meetings, and by communicating the values of the College and the women's lacrosse program clearly and effectively. Year Round. 35%
Contribute to the development of the team on the field during practices and games by providing the Head Coach with ideas regarding strategy and individual skill development and by instructing student-athletes during practices, games and individual skill sessions. September-October, February 1-May. 15%
Lead fundraising efforts for the program by finding new ideas and reaching out to those who have helped in the past in order to offset the cost of the annual Spring Break trip as well as any other miscellaneous needs that arise over the course of each year. Year Round. 10%
Aid the head coach in maintaining contact with parents and alumnae through email and phone correspondences and work with Development to orchestrate in person events that can connect current and former women's lacrosse players in order to strengthen the Dickinson women's lacrosse community on and off campus and potentially attract donors to our program and the McAndrew's Fund. 10%
Aid the head coach in orchestrating clinics for both prospective student-athletes and local youth by marketing the events to the appropriate audiences, maintaining club and HS coach relationships, and planning proper programming for each event in order to both grow the game in the local area and to attract quality student-athletes to Dickinson. Year Round. 10%
Upload and break down film by using Gamebreaker, Hudl and Krossover software in order to follow conference rules and make game film available to our student-athletes as a tool for player and team development. February-May. 10%
Ensure that travel arrangements are made to away games.
Act as the main contact for bus company.
Make sure the team has food after away games.
Plow Biddle field as needed due to snow.
Other duties as determined or assigned.
Bachelor's degree, required.
Master's degree, preferred. Additional years of assistant coaching experience at a high level may substitute some education.
CPR Certification.
Ability to operate Dickinson College vehicles for recruiting, scouting and team travel during Spring Break.
Collegiate level playing experience.
Strong understanding and appreciation of Division 3 athletics values to support current team members in their endeavors and effectively communicate the benefits of a Division 3 athletic experience to prospective student-athletes.
This position is subject to the Pennsylvania Act 153 Clearance consisting of the Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Information Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Certification, and Federal Criminal History Record Information Check pursuant to Pennsylvania law and Dickinson College policy.
Valid driver's license.
