The Assistant Coach for Marshall University Women’s Soccer plays a vital role in supporting the overall success and daily operations of the program. This position assists the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching, player development, recruiting, and game preparation. The role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to help foster a high-performance environment that aligns with the university’s academic and athletic values. The Assistant Coach will contribute to on-field training sessions, scouting, opponent analysis, and student-athlete mentorship. This position is instrumental in supporting the holistic development of student-athletes and advancing the competitive success and reputation of Marshall Women’s Soccer within the Sun Belt Conference and NCAA Division I landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Performance Development
• Assist the Head Coach in designing, implementing, and evaluating team training sessions.
• Lead set-piece planning and scouting, including opponent analysis and preparation for both attacking and defensive situations.
• Provide technical and positional coaching, including individualized feedback and performance reviews through video analysis.
• Contribute to game analysis, opponent reports, and tactical preparation for upcoming fixtures.
• Support the development of a high-performance environment aligned with the program’s vision and competitive goals. Academic Support & Player Welfare
