JOB TITLE: Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach & American State Bank Sports Complex Assistant

REPORTS TO: Head Women’s Soccer Coach & Director of ASB Sports Complex
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Primarily responsible for aid and support as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and ASB Sports Complex Assistant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the life of the Dordt University community
Serve as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach and assist the Head Coach with work that includes but is not limited to:
developing and implementing daily practice plans,
designing and implementing breakdown work with team members,
organizing and conducting off-season conditioning, playing, and lifting plans/programs, and
marketing and promoting the women’s soccer program.
Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes to attend and compete for Dordt University.
Assist in the training and supervision of student employees in the ASB Sports Complex.
Collaborate with the Director of American State Bank Sports Complex to coordinate requests and schedule activities in the Dome.
Collaborate and communicate with the events staff about activities to be held in the ASB Sports Complex.
Greet visitors and conduct tours for people who visit the facility.
Assist with the development and coordination of youth development programs in the ASB Sports Complex
Perform other administrative duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.
Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

A bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of related work experience, including demonstrated coaching experience.
Mature interpersonal skills including the ability to have strong oral and written communication skills that indicate the ability to work effectively with prospective and current students, faculty and staff, community members, and other professionals.
Demonstrated coaching ability and experience, as well as strong knowledge of the game of soccer.
Mathematical skills necessary for preparing budgets and cash reports.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership skills needed for training and supervising employees.
Some basic computer skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various groups of people.
Coordination skills necessary for scheduling activities and organizing and maintaining records.
Administrative skills needed for handling budget and cash transactions and for initiating policies and procedures for the center.
Short-term planning skills in developing usage and maintenance plans for the center.
Physical skills needed for setting up and tearing down equipment for events.
General knowledge of facility equipment.
