This position reports to the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach. Responsible to the head coach for providing coaching expertise (sprints, jumps, and hurdles) and leadership of the intercollegiate athletics Women’s Track and Field program. Assist the head coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes.
Teaching and coaching student-athletes to develop and acquire the tactical, technical and physical knowledge required to be a competitive Division I intercollegiate level student-athlete. Responsible for skill instruction during individual and team practices.
Talent assessment and recruiting. Assists in conducting a successful recruiting program to identify and cultivate outstanding student- athletes to Ohio University.
Assist with the administration of the Track & Field program budget including budget management, and team travel arrangements. Ensure the Track & Field program, including staff members and student-athletes, is in compliance with
NCAA
, Mid-American Conference, and Ohio University regulations.
Candidate must display the highest of ethical standards, recruit qualified student-athletes and display a commitment to their academic success. Working knowledge and understanding of
NCAA
rules and procedures is necessary.
CPR
certification will be required within 90 days of start date.
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of coaching experience. Sprints, jumps, and hurdles experience required.
ICA-Track and Cross Country
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
