Position Summary Information

| Summary |
Under general supervision, assists in coaching duties for the sport assigned at California Baptist University. Assists with aspects of the program that may include recruitment, training and/or strength training for athletic competition by performing the following duties. | | Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Other duties may be assigned.

1. Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
2. Lead recruiting coordinator.
3. Assists head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition using sound principles and judgment consistent with the philosophy of CBU Athletics.
4. Assists with the design of workout programs and training routines to improve athletic performance.
5. Assists as directed with implementing and supervising athletic training, strength, and conditioning workouts; provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
6. Participates in various fundraising, marketing, and promotion activities.
7. May perform administrative duties including ordering and maintaining equipment, and other duties as assigned.
8. Assist in coaching all sport practices throughout the season.
9. Assist in planning the training of the team for season.
10. Assist the head coach in effectively arranging home and away contests according to conference and NCAA requirements and submit required documents.
11. Keep records and statistics during games and as directed by the Head Coach. Motivate team for maximum performance by utilizing motivational philosophies that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the CBU Athletic Program philosophy.
12. Display good sportsmanship in relationship with student-athletes, staff, officials, and opponents as consistent with NCAA policies regarding the principle of sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
13. Maintain up-to-date information of sport regulations, rule changes, and NCAA policies.
14. Effectively manage time in a demanding work environment.
15. Coordinate travel arrangements for team.
16. Orders and manages team apparel and equipment.
17. Assist with or produces scouting reports.
18. Assist with video exchange, video editing and statistical analysis.
19. Adhere to all institutional, conference and NCAA bylaws and regulations.
20. Ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of student-athletes Establish and ensure a safe environment for student-athletes.
21. Support the head coach in monitoring and reinforcing all NCAA bylaws and procedures.

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to the Graduate Assistants, student managers, practice players, and part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments. | | Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities |

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and sit. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NCAA experience preferred. |
