| Summary |
Under general supervision, serves as a key contributor to the assigned sport at California Baptist University (CBU) with primary responsibility for leading and managing all recruiting efforts. Provides comprehensive support in athlete development, training, and strength conditioning, while coordinating recruiting strategies, identifying prospective student‑athletes, and overseeing the full recruiting process in alignment with program and NCAA guidelines.

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
Serve as the lead recruiting coordinator, managing the full recruiting strategy—including identifying, evaluating, and engaging prospective student‑athletes; overseeing recruiting communications; coordinating visits; and ensuring all recruiting activity aligns with NCAA and institutional guidelines.
Assist the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training sessions, and competitions in accordance with CBU Athletics’ philosophy and coaching standards.
Contribute to the development and implementation of workout programs and training routines designed to enhance athletic performance.
Support the implementation and supervision of athletic training, strength, and conditioning sessions; provide technical instruction and guidance to student‑athletes as appropriate to the sport.
Participate in fundraising, marketing, promotional, and community engagement activities as assigned.
Perform administrative responsibilities such as ordering, maintaining, and inventorying equipment, along with other duties as assigned.
Assist in coaching all practices throughout the season.
Support the planning and structuring of team training for the season.
Assist the head coach in arranging home and away contests in accordance with conference and NCAA requirements, including preparation and submission of necessary documentation.
Maintain records and statistics during games as directed; motivate student‑athletes using appropriate strategies consistent with the mission and philosophy of CBU Athletics.
Demonstrate exemplary sportsmanship in interactions with student‑athletes, staff, officials, and opponents, in alignment with NCAA principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
Maintain current knowledge of sport‑specific regulations, rule changes, and NCAA policies.
Manage time effectively within a demanding and fast‑paced work environment.
Coordinate team travel arrangements.
Oversee ordering, distribution, and management of team apparel and equipment.
Assist in preparing and/or reviewing scouting reports.
Support video operations, including video exchange, editing, and statistical analysis.
Comply with all institutional, conference, and NCAA bylaws and regulations.
Promote and safeguard the physical, emotional, and social well‑being of student‑athletes by helping establish and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Support the head coach in monitoring, reinforcing, and modeling adherence to all NCAA bylaws, policies, and procedures.

| Supervisory Responsibilities |
This position may be responsible for assigning tasks and providing direction to Graduate Assistants, student managers, practice players, and student workers to ensure the successful completion of work assignments.

· Ability to travel—including domestic and international air travel—and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While carrying out the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The role requires visual acuity to read words and numbers, as well as sufficient speaking and hearing abilities to communicate effectively in person or by phone. The position involves moderate physical activity, including handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds and standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. | Education and/or Experience |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, along with two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. NCAA experience is preferred.
