Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Head Wrestling Coach, this position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our wrestling program. In addition to wrestling skills and wrestling strategies, teaching/coaching, duties include development of student-athletes and recruitment.
Key Responsibilities** :**
Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the athletic development of student-athletes within the wrestling program.

Individual, small group and team skills training
Individual, small group and team tactics teaching/coaching
Assess wrestlers’ skills during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of student-athletes
Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the academic success of student-athletes within the wrestling program.
Meets with student-athletes individually to insure academic accountability
Provides counsel to help student-athletes navigate the rigors of collegiate academic work
Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus support services available
Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the personal growth of student-athletes within the wrestling program.
Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus student-health support services available
Meets with student-athletes on an as needed basis
Assists the head coach in executing an active college community relations program leading to the positive promotion of the wrestling program and its student athletes.
Represents the Department and Student Affairs Division in the College Community, developing relationships conducive to program and departmental success.
Participates in our efforts to recruit qualified student-athletes for the wrestling program.
Serves as a manager for selected athletic events.
Carries out other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities** :**
Bachelor’s degree required.
One to three years of wrestling or coaching experience at an NCAA sponsored institution.
Member of a National Wrestling Coaches Association.
CPR certified preferred.
