Associate/Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance
McKendree University, a proud member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance position. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the successful candidate will be responsible for all facets of compliance to include the following:
Oversees all compliance matters for NCAA programs in coordination with Admission, the Office of Financial Aid, Academic Records, and Student Affairs.
Sport administrator designated sports.
Serves as the liaison between Athletics and the Office of Development.
Provides interpretation for NCAA Division II and conference rules and regulations for NCAA programs.
Responsible for providing rules education to athletic coaches and staff, student-athletes, alumni, faculty, institutional staff members, and representatives of athletic interests.
Prepares NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance reports.
Serves as a member of the Compliance Committee.
Serves as the advisor for the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Serves as an athletic representative on various campus committees.
Accepts inquiries and conducts investigations into alleged rules violations.
Liaison for the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Updates the President regarding NCAA violations and general compliance concerns as necessary.
Updates and manages the Compliance Assistant database.

Participates as an active member in the administration and governance of the athletics program.
Assists in the hiring of departmental personnel.
Attends meetings and functions relative to the department, as assigned by the Director of Athletics (i.e., conference meetings, rules education seminars).
Assist the Director of Athletics in creating the vision and strategic plan for the athletic department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree with a demonstrated commitment to excellence.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong understanding of the importance of detail.
An understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in the environment of higher education.
Extensive knowledge of NCAA Division II rules.
Maintains CPR and AED certifications.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Progressive experience in intercollegiate athletics and compliance.
Familiarity with the NCAA, GLVC, MIAA, and MIVA rules and regulations.
Familiarity with Compliance Assistant (CAi) and with NCAA technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Previous work experience in an NCAA Division II environment.
WORK HOURS/CONDITIONS:
Ability to work nights and weekends.
