As the Associate Athletic Director overseeing financial activities, your responsibilities encompass a wide range of critical responsibilities aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of the Athletics Department. Key areas of responsibility:
Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage the athletics department’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This involves allocating resources appropriately to various programs and initiatives while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Financial Projections and Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to provide insights into the department’s financial performance and future outlook. This includes identifying trends, assessing risks, and making recommendations for improvement.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (
FOIA
) regulations regarding the disclosure of public records, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Expense Approvals: Review and approve departmental expenses to ensure they are within budget and comply with relevant policies and regulations.
Policy Management: Develop and enforce policies and procedures to promote transparency, accountability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Regularly review and update policies as needed to adapt to changing circumstances.

Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports to the
NCAA
(National Collegiate Athletic Association) and
EADA
(Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act) as required.
Short and Long-Term Planning: Develop strategies and initiatives to optimize financial performance and resource utilization over both the short and long term. This may involve identifying cost-saving opportunities, exploring revenue-generating activities, and forecasting financial needs.
Executive Support: Serve as the second-in-command to the Executive Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, providing support and assistance as needed in managing departmental operations and strategic initiatives.

This position may require additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include occasional overnight and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.
This position is restricted to funding.

Faculty or Staff: 12 month
A bachelor’s degree or comparable level of education and experience.
Several years of professional experience in an athletics business office or comparable environment.
Several years of progressive professional experience in financial operations.
Experience with internal controls.
Must possess a strong financial background, with experience making accurate financial projections & forecasting
Demonstrated experience managing many areas of financial activity including endowment and fundraising administration, debt service, financial projections, budget and expense management.
Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of
NCAA
regulations.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
Master’s degree in business or sports administration.
Knowledge of state/campus policies and procedures
Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)
Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval. Employee eligibility depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor’s ability to manage remote workers. Departments and/or Human Resources may amend, alter, change, delete, or modify eligibility.
Up to $80,000
All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
This position has an established starting rate.
