The Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Success is a member of the Vice President of Athletics and Student Success’ leadership team with the primary responsibility of day-to-day management of the department’s compliance program, developing and implementing processes in education, monitoring and enforcement, to ensure alignment with all athletic association and institutional policies and procedures.
This position will also serve as the primary liaison to key institutional departments (admission, financial aid services, academic affairs/student success) to oversee team roster and eligibility information, as well as to plan and lead academic support platforms for student-athletes. This role will work with student-athletes regularly to connect needs with campus resources to assist in academic goal attainment, and will oversee the department’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
This is an at-will, full time, exempt position and reports to the Vice President of Athletics and Student Success. This position is located at the Chicago campus and requires onsite attendance.

Bachelor’s Degree
1+ years of experience in athletics compliance and eligibility or equivalent work with athletics as a coach, administrator or higher education professional.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
A positive and professional demeanor is a must
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Two or more years of prior experience in athletics compliance and eligibility
Experience in developing academic success plans for student-athletes
Prior knowledge using customer relationship management (Slate) and student information system (Banner) in managing new and continuing student data
Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required, along with work during non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

Athletics Compliance and Eligibility Certification
Lead the athletic department’s compliance program, developing and implementing processes in rules education, monitoring and enforcement, to ensure alignment and compliance with athletic association (national and conference level) and institutional policies and procedures.
Assist with the completion of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act Report and the Gender Equity Plan, assist in the development and implementation of the athletic strategic plan to support and manage diversity, gender equity and Title IX issues.
Manage athletic team roster and eligibility information as part of the student-athlete certification process, collaborating with coaches and athletic department staff, as well as other institutional departments, including but not limited to admission, financial aid and academic affairs/student success. | | Percentage Of Time | 70 |

Serve as a member of the athletics leadership team, supporting the Vice President on strategy development and the direction of the athletic department especially as this support relates to compliance and eligibility. Represent the University at national association and conference meetings, the department as part of institutional committees or internal events, and in other forums as needed.
