Reporting to the Vice President/Director of Athletics and College’s Chief Financial Officer, the Associate Athletic Director of Finance will serve as a trusted advisor to the Vice President/Director of Athletics regarding the financial operations and financial strategy of the department.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President/Director of Athletics and College’s Chief Financial Officer, the Associate Athletic Director of Finance will serve as a trusted advisor to the Vice President/Director of Athletics regarding the financial operations and financial strategy of the department.

Additionally, this role will lead the efforts in forecasting, monitoring and managing all of the department’s daily and long-term financial activities.

This would include:

• Effectively engage the Vice President/Director of Athletics and other members of the department and staff in the financial budgeting process.
• Completes Department’s financial reporting obligations including year-end close process, NCAA reporting requirements, and other reporting needs.
• Prepares financial analyses including standard monthly financial analytics, and various ad hoc management requests.
• Provides cost containment/reduction and process improvement recommendations to Vice President/Director of Athletics to enhance operating efficiencies and results.
• Collaborate with athletic department personnel and head coaches to develop and implement strategies, policies, and protocol that promote the welfare of student athletes and the success of athletic programs.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position include 7+ years of similar executive financial leadership or athletic administration or related field experience required. Extensive background in financial planning, strategic planning, analysis, revenue generation and modeling as well as financial reporting required. Previous experience in business leadership roles within higher education and/or the sports industry is very helpful and a proven track record of setting and achieving high financial goals and objectives. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously required.
