Responsibilities :
The Associate Athletic Director/Senior Director of Athletics Development will possess exceptional fundraising, management, and leadership skills, and will partner with the Deputy AD/Executive Director to lead fundraising and donor relations efforts for the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF). This position is primarily responsible for leading a team of development professionals as well as managing a portfolio of prospective donors with a goal reaching both individual and team fundraising objectives. Will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends throughout the year, as well as travel on a frequent basis.
In collaboration with the Deputy AD/Executive Director, the Associate Athletic Director/Senior Director of Athletics
Development develops and implements strategies for leadership annual and major gift fundraising to generate private contributions supporting the top priorities of Louisiana Athletics, including student-athlete support, unrestricted needs and capital projects
Under the direction of the Deputy AD/Executive Director the Associate Athletic Director/Senior Director of Athletics Development will:
-Supervise, mentor and lead a team of development professionals, setting clear direction with well-defined measurable goals and ensuring accountability for meeting those goals
-Manage a portfolio of 100-125 major gift prospects, develop effective moves management strategies, and lead prospects through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycle
-Creates sophisticated and best practice major gift fundraising strategies for Department of Athletics and assigned sports fundraising priorities (capital projects, unrestricted support, endowments, planned gifts, etc.)
-Serve as member of leadership staffs, including Louisiana Athletics External Leadership Team and Advancement Leadership Team, as directed by the Deputy AD/Executive Director
-Collaborate with Associate AD for Sales & Service to ensure (a) development and execution of effective communication plan outlining priorities and case for support of Louisiana Athletics; (b) consistent, clear communication with existing donors regarding priority point system, annual contributions, tickets, premium seating; and (c) timely acknowledgment of all support of the Ragin’ Cajuns

-Lead the RCAF Donor Relations team to ensure development and execution of effective stewardship strategies for all leadership annual and major gifts;
-Partner with the ticket office to ensure (a) seamless collaboration and consistent communication across all revenue generations teams; and (b) effective collaboration and execution of premium seating strategies for existing and prospective donors.
-Meet with Athletics leadership, including coaches, to document and confirm fundraising priorities; creates fundraising materials
-Provide strategic advice and direction to Deputy AD/Executive Director and other leadership on major gift prospect strategies and steps that involve leadership
-Work collaboratively and at the direction of other Office of Development professionals to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and effectively coordinate all major gift donor efforts
-Work with RCAF/Athletics/University staff to secure pertinent information for writing and creating donor giving opportunities, solicitations/proposals and stewardship reports
-Solicit prospects for Premium Seating and RCAF Annual Fund as assigned
-Negotiate gifts and pledges in accordance with adopted gift acceptance policies and procedures; submits appropriate materials to accurately record gifts and pledges in donor database
-Research and implement University and industry best practices on major gift donor stewardship.
-Collaborate with RCAF Donor Relations staff to deliver high-quality donor engagement
-Direct and coordinate major donor participation for out-of-town games, playoff games, and special events during the post-season.
-Run reports and analyze data to monitor personal metrics and team metrics; take action to achieve goals
-Serve as staff liaison with RCAF Board of Directors sub-committee(s) as assigned
-Prepare and enter call reports in a timely manner. Maintain accuracy of records by providing updates for donor database and following established protocols for use of data
-Travel locally, regionally, and nationally to meet with qualified prospective donors based on their ability and inclination to make gifts.
-Actively participate in RCAF and Office of Development staff meetings and retreats
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
-A Bachelor's degree is required
-At least 5 years of experience in Athletics Sales/ Development or University Advancement/ Development.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree
-A strong affinity toward and understanding of intercollegiate athletics, including an interest in enhancing the student-athlete experience through philanthropy
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as customer service skills necessary
-Ability to lead others and create opportunities for growth
-Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills
-Proven track record of building relationships and soliciting gifts
-Capable of crafting proposals and other professional documentation
-Self-motivated with the ability to achieve goals and metrics
-Ability to direct major gift activities to achieve goals
-Ability to both prioritize given assignments and multi-task effectively
-Ability to work collaboratively and follow organization rules and guidelines
-Ability to think critically and exercise sound judgment and decision making
