Apply NowThe Associate Athletic Trainer will report to the Head Athletic Trainer to administer a comprehensive sports medicine program for a NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference intercollegiate athletics program. The Associate Athletic Trainer will aid in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. The Associate Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary supervisor of student employees and interns within the department.
_ Duties & Responsibilities: _
Provide Athletic Training services to all student-athletes
Provide clinic and event coverage as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
Administer and oversee the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses of assigned teams and student-athletes
Monitor weather conditions and dangerous environments to modify activity as appropriate
Enact venue-specific emergency action plans as warranted
Maintain proper documentation of all student-athlete injuries and illnesses per federal and state regulations
Compliance and Regulatory Duties
Direct supervision and assignment of student workers and interns within the department
Serve as the primary point of contact for the department in Head Athletic Trainer’s absence
Attend advisory committee meetings in Head Athletic Trainer’s absence
Review student-athlete medical documentation prior to athletic participation
Comply with insurance billing policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
Adhere to the policies of E&H College and the Department of Athletics
Adhere to all NCAA and South Atlantic Conference rules and regulations

Required Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
Certified by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
Virginia Department of Health Professions license or eligible (obtained within 4 mo of hire)
