Proficient with corporate and college athletics tools (i.e., Microsoft tools, statistical analyses).
Proficient with a variety of digital delivery outlets (i.e., content delivery, file share, podcasting, web design).
Proficient with creative content tools (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, editing)
Available to work evenings and weekends.
Prior experience working in intercollegiate athletics.
Bachelors’ degree with additional consideration for master’s degree
Experience managing name, image, and likeness program.
The Associate Athletics Director for Communications is a multifaceted position within Texas State Athletics and is responsible for leading strategic internal and external communications including digital platforms (web, social, new media), media relations and event support. Works collaboratively within the external unit to determine content topics, coordinates with internal and external audiences to positively position the department for maximize local, regional, and national exposure. Leads our creative content team to deliver highly impactful content for internal and external consumption. Prepares and supervises Communications office staff that coordinate the publicity of the department’s sports programs and participating student athletes including production of press releases, special announcements, event materials, digital content, etc.
Develop strategic communications plan that enhances Texas State athletics image and brand.
Oversight of Communications and Creative Content staff, providing leadership towards the achievements of departmental goals
Serve as the primary communications representative for the Department of Athletics and Football.
Manage and grow relationships with key media partners.
Supervise and coordinate communication releases for the department and all sports programs.
Develop and execute strategy for delivery of digital content for sports programs including social media.
Organize and retain historical files and analytical data for the department and all for all sports programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
