) Athletics Department is seeking a dynamic and experienced
Associate Athletics Director of Marketing and Branding
to lead and oversee all aspects of marketing, branding, and promotions. Reporting directly to the Athletics Director, this pivotal role is designed for a creative thinker who is passionate about elevating the
ETSU
Athletics brand and enhancing the overall fan experience.
In this role, you will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive annual marketing plans tailored for various sports, with a particular emphasis on men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and football. Your strategic vision will drive initiatives aimed at increasing attendance and revenue while creating an electric gameday atmosphere for our home contests.
You will collaborate closely with the
ETSU
Athletics External Operations team to integrate key elements such as revenue generation, ticketing, and multimedia communications into cohesive marketing and branding strategies. Additionally, you will oversee all marketing activities for Southern Conference and
NCAA
Championship events hosted by
ETSU
, ensuring that these events reflect the high standards of excellence associated with our institution.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing innovative marketing, branding, and messaging strategies that resonate with fans and the community.
Enhancing the overall experience for attendees at
ETSU
Athletic events and select institutional community events.
Providing daily oversight of all marketing and branding efforts within the department.

Strong familiarity with technology as to enhance the value of Athletics and the institution.
Ability to develop and execute a marketing analytics plan that will provide data to assist with departmental strategy.
Experience with the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technology in athletics.
Experience and knowledge of sports marketing and fan experience strategies.
Experience with sports management and oversight of athletics game day marketing and fan experience operations.
Familiarly with Adobe photoshop software is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other computer skills required.
Experience generating and implementing sales marketing campaigns.
Self-starter with an outstanding work ethic.
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills.
Ability to work independently and coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Five years of experience in a collegiate or professional athletics setting or a related field with a proven successful experience in achieving marketing, branding, and messaging goals.
Masters
Varied work experience in marketing, branding and messaging positions that will provide creative ideas and contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategic communications.
