This position will oversee all full-time administrators and staff of the department and part-time student employees, coaches and instructors for the following programs: fitness, outdoor, aquatics, intramurals and club sports and all recreation facilities.
Develop and manage the Department and Fitness and Aquatic Center (RAC) budgets.
This position will ensure program operations are of high quality and integrity and are functioning in support of the overall University vision, mission, and values.
The Associate Athletics Director, Recreation & Physical Education provides leadership within UMBC Athletics assuming Sport Supervision responsibilities and serving as the Director of the UMBC Summer Day Camp.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Sports Administration, Education or a related field.
7 years of professional experience, preferably within the Athletics/Recreation field.
Experience in large athletic facilities including an aquatics area, weight room, indoor track, fitness studio is preferred.
Experience in facilities management, event management or a related area is preferred.

Salary: $88,000 to $95,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
