Position Description
Seattle University has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and skilled educator to serve as Associate Athletic Performance Coach and join our community. This position provides specialized skill instruction and program support in the area of physical and mental performance training specific to the strength, speed and conditioning development of 330 student-athletes. The university sponsors 20 NCAA Division I sports.
Reporting to the Head Athletic Performance Coach, the following are the key responsibilities:
Actively maintain professional knowledge base and credentials by researching industry scientific and clinical advancements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Two years related experience at the NCAA intercollegiate level or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Current National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification required and must be maintained for duration of employment.
Current Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification is also required and must be maintained for duration of employment.
The ability and willingness to exercise discretion and have sound professional judgement is required.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, WAC, or any athletics conference in which Seattle University is a member or may join, and other established bodies that govern or oversee intercollegiate athletics. In the event Employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of these organizations’ constitutions, bylaws, rules or regulations may have taken place, Employee shall promptly report the same to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at the University. Employee shall cooperate fully and completely with any investigation of any alleged violation, whether such investigation is conducted by the University, NCAA or any other duly authorized agency or individual.

Compensation at a Glance:
Salary Range: $58,000 - $62,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible*
This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university’s discretion.
