Under the supervision of the Director of Olympic Sport Performance, assist with the responsibilities of assigned teams within the Olympic Sport Performance Department in accordance with the
NCAA
, BIG12, and University of Utah regulations.

Work in collaboration with the technical tactical sport coaches of assigned teams to develop comprehensive plans for injury mitigation and athletic development.
Work in collaboration with Athletic Training, Nutrition, Sport Psychology and Wellness, and Applied Health and Performance Science to ensure safety in the design and implementation of athlete development programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs.
Design and implement sport specific plans of athlete development based on scientific principles and standards of best practice.
Participate and contribute to holistic departmental continuing education.
Use and maintain a strength and conditioning management system for all programming and athlete development tracking.
In collaboration with Athletic Training, Nutrition, Sport Psychology and Wellness, and Applied Health and Performance Science conduct testing and assessment protocols relevant to assigned teams.
Attend and participate in all staff meetings and departmental initiatives.
Provide an overall positive educational environment for our Student-Athletes conducive to learning, athletic development, social growth, and preparing them for life beyond college.
Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the image and reputation of the department and university.
Responsible for the development, safety and conduct of the student-athletes within the sport program and Olympic Sport Performance Facilities
Serve on departmental/campus committees as requested.
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or other related field required
First aid
CPR
certification required
Candidates must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the
NSCA
or be Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the CSCCa. (Note: proof of certification will be required)
Demonstrated effective communication skills through oral, written and electronic forms.
Knowledge of and compliance with
NCAA
rules is required.
Candidates must be able to work with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and administrators.
Candidates must also be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and be able to travel as assigned by the Director of Olympic Sport Performance
Ability to work a non-standard work schedule
Masters’ degree in Exercise Science or other related field
Two years of collegiate Sport Performance coaching experience
